A Story of Perception

Lincoln Was a Tyrant, Hitler Was a Hero
Lincoln was a tyrant, Hitler was a hero is a phrase that can be said by someone who do not wish to understand history or the perception of most sane and logical people.

Thankfully I am not this person. But different perceptions can be dangerous, and even lethal.
Lebanon is a plate full of different perceptions, and with the right cards, that can be okay.

Democracy isn't about one being right. It's about many debating an idea, theme, and subject and then, get a solution to it. This is what should happen. But censoring is still alive and well. This article has been censored by all who do not wish to understand it.

Who draws the limits between what and who gets censored? And should censoring even be considered?

Well,Censoring gives us two things:Fear and Bravery.Fear from the ones who censored, terrified by mere words.Bravery for the one and the ones who spoke up the magic language of Freedom. Many can argue that censoring can and divide people or can be too extreme, Nazi like even or can be completely false.

Should it be censored then?It depends on how each one of us thinks. And both sides I'd argue would be in fact right and wrong. The beauty of having a debate is nice!It is one of the pillars of democracy.

The multitude of opinions with respect and comprehension and getting somewhere with it.There is nothing wrong in being mistaken or to think differently at a certain point in our lives. What's horrible is to not let new ideas flow inside us, and not admit that we are wrong or even worst, cannot accept the critics of someone and censor them.If you think your opinion is the right one, why not debate it and bring the logical structured arguments to the table? Wouldn't that at the very least make your "opponent" understand you and even emphasize with you?

Persecution doesn't work as far as I am concerned. History shows it, history proves it, with the many Christians who suffered under the Romans. The French under the Nazis, the Arabs and Africans under the colonial Empires. The Lebanese under the Syrian and the Israeli.

Would the religions that we know today be even there if persecuted to the very last soul that worships one of them?Free will was given by Nature or God depending on your beliefs. But in either case, we were born in it. Therefore no one can take that away from us not even waves of hands trying to silence the joyful words of liberty.Lebanon first hand bled many times, but the cedars stay strong in the winter. Never forget who and what we are. Opinions are not fact.

Disrespect is not how things should be.In no shape or form, i am calling for hate against an entity. Do not hate, we have seen what hate did and continues to do to this country.Colleagues, Friends, Compatriots we live in times where the curse of hate is used to fuel anger and steel into the hands of some. We should not fall under the pressure of these things. In fact we need to stand firm, as the Cedars of Lebanon in the winter on our mountains stand.

Freedom of Speech is a right given by us since birth, and should not be taken by individuals who chain others. For chains get old, overused, and thin against Freedom. The only sensible way to fight this is not with hate, but with endurance, love, respect, resilience, hope, and above all, more words that avenge the ones erased by a Hand colored in all colors and have all symbols but the honest symbols and tint of our true flag, engraved in our hearts Lebanon.

Thank You.
