From freedom true democracy shall be born, from hate Tyranny shall prevail

l I think the problem in Lebanon is a problem of people.

Of course, corruption destroys democracy and good governance as a whole.

But it would not be there if the people stopped it. But the people who live here are scared of the notion of killing their own leaders, the ones that are supposed to protect them, to represent them. And thus they wouldn't like to get rid of them because they'd be getting rid of themselves as well. Obviously this is not true, but Lebanon is not the first country to ever be corrupt.

And I am aware that revolutions build one link at a time. But after the catastrophy of the 4th of August

The masses should have hanged many people in the streets by now. But this did not happen. People here are chained, we all are. We were born in a place where we have to think in the good of the group and not of the nation. Most Lebanese people will say they'd be willing to live in a nation state, in a government that isn't confessional in its structure. But why is nothing happening?

One of the reasons is because people are filled with time. To take care of surviving. To keep their jobs and markets. And With some cowardice that comes from most of us including me to not rise and fight everyday on the streets. Humans are rebellious when they are high in numbers.

However The people here, are very fragmented, with some who are with, and others against the Sawra AKa the revolution, and some don't agree completely with it even, or don't trust it. Now when the elections come, will something change?

Perhaps very little. People are too divided, people are too weak, and people just want to survive. The young wants to leave, can we say no? And declare with all audacity: "No stand up and fight your government?" While knowing, The risk to be thrown in jail, to lose an eye or even being killed?

Countries like ours will be "solved" in only two possible realistic ways i can see. With blood or with better politicians through elections. Elections need to happen, and the people who want to live in a better Lebanon need to vote for independent people. Even if politicians did good things for you before,

 Do. Not. Vote. For. Them.

But if you do, do not complain. I don't want more white, black, green, yellow, blue, red, orange flags(i know there are others but you get the point) . I want the Lebanese flag. But do the Lebanese want it? Just yesterday, a man protested against the picture of Soleimani inside a book market. He yelled "Beirut is free, Iran get out". He was told to shut up and then He was beaten.

The two point of views would be two , if I want to make a quick rundown : ,

the first: he was expressing his opinion.

The second being that Soleimani can be someone we can talk about like we can talk about Hitler, it doesn't mean that we are with the Nazis.

Some can also argue that we can write books about anything or anyone. Thus we have free speech, written or not. And therefore none of them were mistaken, both were expressing an opinion. That was fine, until the fighting started Resorting to violence is not the answer.

We are an independent, sovereign country. I don't want Iran or any other country to colonize us. But again, who am I? Just a person

And someone else can attack me and hate me for what I said. And of course criticize me. But it's an opinion, I believe it’s right.

But I'd listen to someone who wouldn't be from the same opinion its fine.

The people who believe that are with Iran are no criminals, they are people with opinions, and this is democracy: People disagreeing,  However what isn't democracy is resorting to violence and to hate. Remember that it’s a book market, where free speech is the air inside. Speaking about Daech doesn't mean we are with Daech. And saying things against Daech doesn't mean that I am attacking the person that wrote about them.

I am criticizing his idea and I have every right to do so because Daech are brainwashed devils. If the person is defending a wrong and false opinion and is spreading it, i can combat it by criticism by standing against it and make as much noise as he is doing. If he made a poster about soleimani, fine. I bring the flag of Iran and write on it "get out of Lebanon". Both are opinions, both should be respected and at least not let it become hatred and violence.

Hate is something many young people did not see happen but it did happen-- many horrible things happened in times of civil war. We live in a country where opinions are disrespected, democracy is just a toy, freedom just a tool to use for politicians to defend the right of their groups. Is religion to blame? No. The reason why I say that is because I believe it's not guns that kill but the person pulling the trigger and therefore, some people use religion as a tool the same way you can use a kitchen knife with evil intentions. Should we ban kitchen knifes? No, how else I'll cut my tomatoes? Religion in Lebanon is inside many of us. But we need to draw a line, and tell the politician that he is not God he is an imperfect human.

Only God is total perfection and for those who believe. God is someone worth trusting and believing in. Not someone in a suit that may not even pray like you do. So is it politics then? Yes. Is it the people? Absolutely. -we need to calm down. A revolution should not be divided. It will happen one day, people will explode after all this restrain.

And it might be bloody, brutal and inhumane. Don't let it become that, we need to let the new generation of uncolored people win lots of seats, trust Lebanon not your group, so you can be proud of it, so you can live and love in it. Do not resort to violence or to hate. For it is the death of democracy and freedom.

but hey , it's only me
