The New Soft Power

Usually when we talk about soft power , we talk about movies mostly , and how inside them we see a message , an agenda , a movie is not neutral , even when it talks about superheroes , a movie is made by many people and those people have opinions. 

art is never made to be blank and neutral , quite the contrary , it is emotions mostly.  Movies and Netflix series help shaping a certain society , it doesn't necessarily mean a bad thing , for instance , fighting against racism and implementing diversity is not satan' s work. However of course there are bad things , of course some things might be used to push a certain agenda . Movies and tv shows influence us , whether we like it or not , and most of us all watched/played/listened/read /etc.  one "art piece "that changed us in a way , or made us think of things in a different way , this is true art , the one that sticks with you , that leaves a scar inside your thinking process. sometimes they are implemented the right correct smart way , and other times they can be used in dumb ways , just to show their agenda very bluntly . 

In movies the middle east is sometimes desert , the American  a hero , the French an evil good looking person , the British a rich person and so on . 

at the end of the day , it's a story , and stories influence us , look at mythology for instance , it's the same thing. people back at the time were influenced by stories like these (they built literal temples) , and we are no different , their shape changed that's all.

 Now movies can be interpreted like a painting , which is great , and it makes me really think that movies or living art in general like video games have motifs behind them , they don't need to be political , nor do they need to be on purpose , but we humans when we write , when i write , it's my soul who is talking , and we don't have the same souls , we talk emotions and sentiments , and opinions , whether we like it or not.

 We can be academic sure. But by being academic you're being sensitive about the fact that you don't want a stance beside the one studied in class ,whether it's right or not. You're not willing to accept it , even if you do the administration might not.

 because a student does not have a PhD , and therefore your opinion is better then theirs, therefore we in our mind think most of the time , that we are right when doing things , otherwise most would not do it. 

Opinions are all around us , lies and truth too , we are surrounded by pieces of art , and this art is us.

 Everything that we collected from the internet , other people , movies , video games , news , journals , enemies , friends , loved ones and so much more made us Pieces of Art , each one of us think the way he or she thinks for a hundred reason. Each one of us is unique , each one of us did mistakes and did good things , but what i am trying to say is , soft power now arrived to a new era .

If the world became so much more full of fast information transmitted in millions of forms , and if we collected all this information to forge our unique personal opinion ,and , if the pillar of soft power , is schools , art and media as a whole , then the continuation is the individual , who by himself spreads soft power , if it fills your agenda , that's great , if not , then you lost a battle of information.

if i think like the US wants me to think , its great for the US , she won an information battle , but if not , she lost it . Maybe i don't have to think exactly like they do , but if one day , you ask me , you prefer Russia or the USA , i will not hesitate , and i will say the US. Because they are the ones that i would prefer to stand with after everything that I've seen and known throughout the years. 

However , this doesn't mean that i will never change my opinion , and therefore ,my salary as a "soldier" in this information war , is that i expect the US to keep being better or at least not betray the ideals that she gave me. 

The information war is a never ending war , as long as the Human race keeps breathing.
