Playing Against Your Teacher
There is a school in Staccato that was built by the two brothers . they took great care in education , for this is what their mother taught them. Diamondheart also invested much of her time over there. after all she became part of the leadership after introducing to the underground the powers of the core. perhaps not all of it , but definitely some that are still safe to consume. and that wouldn't hurt , she gave out the healing cores for now , as for the ones that can be used for fighting and military action , Sails wanted more experiments on Them , since it was found that this particular mix , can bring people to a certain madness , Diamondheart doesn't have a problem to fix it , it will take time , for now , this particular mix is hidden.
Anyway back to the school , this school is pure revolutionary ideals , a school that is free , of quality and is not hated by children . a dream to say the least. the programs are in motion but get updated often , to fix things , to give more interaction and experiences to the students. the brothers took this field very seriously. This school was also one of the first schools built in the Underground , 369 heard about it , he sent a letter that both brothers did not read , Diamondheart did. She notes in her diary that 369 wants to meet with them soon , and he is proud of their work in Staccato , he also praises Dh , for her huge discovery.
But today i am writing here to tell you what happened to New Gen High , a heist. Yes , you read that correctly , a heist happened. something that sounds crazy, but some people down there were criminals and brought their filth down there. and so around 10 people entered the huge building , and told all personnel and kids to go to the highest floor , where there was a football court there. Why the fish would anyone make a heist on a school? well the reason that was given to the public was simple , you want your child alive? you need to pay up. and this was a catastrophe because everyone in Staccato had their kids there. Anchor ordered that no money should be sent until further notice , many mothers protested , but Sails made a speech explaining that giving them money will not fix this situation. What will happen when they have 0 kids left? kill them ? escape with them? Both leaders were heavily against any negotiations , so much so that they ordered snipers to shoot any heister on the spot.
However When Diamondheart came near the police security barrier around the school , she went to the tent of the two boys , they were talking to generals , and were planning a swift attack. Dh asked for the generals to leave for a moment.
"They are not here for the kids" she says
"why are they here for then?"
"they are here because of the vault room under the school , where we keep some of our Fighting Core"
"Why in the world are we keeping some here?" Anchor closes the curtains leaving only the lamp inside as light
"No one would ever know , someone gave them information , it must be one of the librians i hired , i am sorry"
"Why would you say that?" Sails asks
"369 wants it , but our last official letter , written by me said no , since it is our stance isn't it?"
"It is , alright , it's okay. we need to prevent this , the mix is not ready" Sails explains
"They have no possible escape besides the Sea , let me negotiate with their leader , maybe i can give him a bigger price"
"Which we will not actually pay , correct?" Anchor asks
"Correct"
"Alright good , i will Mobilize a chase fleet , we won't let them escape"
"Deal , and thank you for trusting me"
Sails shacked his head and left with Anchor to get to the Harbor.
meanwhile Dh gets the phone and dials the school number.
"Hello this is the school director" a female voice answers
"Is everyone alive and safe?" Diamondheart knows she is speaking with the gang leader
"Yes , for now"
" They will stay safe , i was just making sure you guys are not heartless"
"So much confidence , yet i am the one with guns inside"
"Guns? You mean ammunition , what happens when this runs out? Staccato has the third largest army and the best navy, there is no escape from this , do not try to blackmail me , we know why you are really there"
"And so why are we talking?"
"How much is Libra paying you?"
"Nobody is paying us"
"Yeah sure , but tell your crew that we are ready to pay 5 times that , with the green light of letting you leave Staccato , if no child is hurt"
"I told you , no one is paying us" The voice gets angry
"Okay, just say the number and we'll talk , i want to be done with this already"
"We are not working for anyone , we got information that you are hiding a powerful mix core, that you are planning on using only yourself"
"That's not true , the mix is not even ready"
"i wouldn't trust a politician"
"Trust me or don't , this is useless , you cannot penetrate the vault even"
"We can , we have a drill , and enough kids to hold you back"
"You think the leadership will let you just take this? You will ruin the whole underground by doing such an idiotic thing"
"Don't try to hold me with your morals , let our scientists make this mix better, stop being so selfish"
"it is my dream"
"Too bad"
She hangs up , Diamondheart sits back , and sighs . She texts Sails and tells him that they will escape in an hour.
Inside the School , 5 members of the heist were near the vaulted room , one of them was drilling.
"Can't believe this worked "
"I told you my years in the CIA paid off"
"We were coming for a few dollars and now we will be able to sell Core , Imagine the wealth"
They all get excited , they didn't even knew that there was core down there , they were coming to sell those kids . since they knew that Staccato is rich , because of their new invention. but now , they can sell their own mix.
the scientist of the group tells them that he only needs a couple of weeks to understand it and replicate the mixture. one tube would cost so much and would be needed , they forgot the original heist and now are going to improvise. Their leader , did suspect this , because they Know Diamondheart , they know how she thinks , and where she would hide this sort of stuff ,and thus they knew that the possibility of this being real was there big time. So when their leader remarked that Dh knew that there was something important in there , she bluffed her , she knew it was core , what else would it be?
After breaking into the vault they managed to get their hands on many tubes of core , and plans and research papers that can be used , and sold later on. They also smelled some sort of perfume , The room was used today . In any case , as Diamondheart said , they were about to run away from the sea. They let the kids go from the front , letting them make lots of noise and paranoia. and in the meantime use the sewers to get to their fast little motor boats and swim away. once they got into the sea , they saw 5 big galleys waiting for them. and so they threw smoke bombs and nasty smelling bombs as they tried to escape , one of them used an incendiary bomb too , and one of the ships took fire. They were trying to get out of this situation and go into deep waters westwards , into the Nightmare Sea.
however , "Mother" was right behind them , shooting with it's big canons one of the boats down , decimating it. Two remained, the fog was far , but it's possible to get there. Sails was so sure to get them , but then out of nowhere , "Mother" gets slammed on the side , breaking the middle nearly in two half's , but thanks to the core it did not. Anchor gets up and sees a ship inside theirs , it wasn't there before , it was invisible . The heisters start to get inside the ship while the pirates attack the crew aboard . Sails shoots 5 with his revolver, he could see the reinforcements coming in from behind him. Anchor stood on the limits of the two ships , he had an anchor on each side of his arms , tied up with a rope. He looked at the enemy charging like fools and started to punch them left and right , decimating hooks and power slams.
Meanwhile Sails saw the leader of the heist trying to let their ship get out of theirs by turning it back.
So he jumped on the enemy ship and made his way towards the captain . She notices him , she takes a sword , she waits for him to lift his , but instead , on his way , he drinks from a tube and rams into her , throwing her on the ground , he starts punching her to the death because he doesn't care at this point .
when her mask breaks , he sees that she is a woman , red hair , red eyes , red lips , he stops for a moment, as if he knows her. but when he does , she stabs him in the right hip and throws him overboard. She gets back to her original work and manages to do it , the reinforcements arrive , but no ship follows her into the Nightmare Sea , no one would dare. Sails is rescued from the water , no sign of blood was seen , he is hurt but the core healed the wound .
The pirates cheer as they get into the nightmare sea , most of them died actually. But they still have the Core with them , and of course the scientist was hiding in the captain's quarters. In any case , they took a breath , going into this black foggy sea. They were making their way to west , it will take time , but the Nightmare sea helped them get away. at a price , and this price was that they are getting in an area which is considered the most dangerous in all of the Underground , due to the brutal force of the core , that creates beasts that you wouldn't like to see or fight.
As they were sailing , they start to hear a choir , then beautiful sounds coming from total darkness, the captain did not see anything , she was just hearing the voices and the beasts living below. So to see one another , they all placed ropes tied to each other on the hips , that would be very bright , this way , they could see some parts of each other. However their journey will take a dark turn , when huge crows attack their ships , Ruby , their captain , tries to avoid them but fails repeatedly , she tries to attack them , but they chopped the heads of most of her crew very easily. So she commands everyone to get inside her room. they could still hear the dreadful sounds , but now the problem was that the ship was going anywhere where the wind wanted it to be.
a few moments stood with just the usual sounds , then out of no where , all sounds disappeared , even the waves were no longer there, just 0 sounds , nothing.
total silence , they could now hear one another breath , their voices didn't adapt very fast to lower their tone. Just pure death for 10 minutes. After that? Ruby got brave enough to get out and see where they were , once she does , she hears everything as normal , they were still inside the Nightmare Sea.
When she got inside , no sounds like before.
She was creeped out by this. but then as she walked around the ship on the outside , she saw that everyone died , including the bodies of the ones that were with her in the room.
She gasps , as she sees her "friends" Laughing , the sound came from the cabin . she called for their names. but nothing. the door shut , she started to pace near it , nothing. and then , out of nowhere a hand full of teeth and worms make a hole in the door trying to reach Ruby , she gets back . the door breaks , and tentacles grab her , bringing her in whatever darkness resides inside the cabin now.
But light saved her , because as she was fighting for her life , the ship leaves the fog , and thus the tentacles disappear into nothingness , the bodies of her friends also were no longer there . the ship stops into some land ,as Ruby takes some breaths and mourns . She throws the anchor , she vomits more then once , she gets inside the cabin , very quickly to get a core tube. she drinks it , thinking she might feel better , instead , she feels as if she drank sparkling apple juice that had neon golden light in it. She drinks another. No , it was not core. IT WAS NOT CORE . IT SURELY LOOKED LIKE IT , BUT WAS NOT. she drank once core substances and she knows that this is NOT how it tastes. She throws a tantrum burning her own ship , cutting a nearby tree with her sword , and breaking it.
Meanwhile Diamondheart explains to the boys that she lied because she thought the heisters had a recording device inside the tent.
she thought of this because she drank core before coming there , a mix that would let you think faster and sharper. She didn't see the device but she knew it might be there. And when she called Ruby , she knew that it was her and that it was an over ambitious plan that she is only doing to impress a particular person , the head of the Bloody Syndicate. She wanted her to believe that there was real core inside there , so she would forget the kids and focus on the "Important stuff" . Diamondheart herself was inside the Syndicate , but She left this clan , she had a very high position in it , she was the teacher of Ruby in the surface and here , but she saw that the clan went a way that she thought isn't representing her anymore.. and so she left..
Anchor and Sails didn't know whether to be proud and glad to have such a person on their side , or that they should be shaking in their boots.
